Bighorn was a great bbq take out spot in Snow Summit's village. Yelp shows that it is closed but it was open during this past weekend during the Spartan run. Located in the center of the village area. Just follow the smoke and you will find it. They also have a Bighorn Blues Bar right across from the ordering window. Order at the window like fast food and they food comes out at the other end. Listen for your name. Food comes out pretty quick, even when busy. They have picnic style tables all around for seating. No to go boxes or bags. Blues Bar Golden Road Pint - $10 each Beef Brisket Sandwich Combo - $16 - Tender brisket. Good seasoning. Comes with 2 sides, I got mac and cheese & mac salad. Both were good bbq sides. Same meat portion as the entree but the sandwich comes with the bun and cole slaw (which they ran out of), had to ask for salad on top. Half Chicken, al la carte - $13 - Juicy tender chicken. Loved the seasoning. Flavorful with a kick. Comes wrapped tight in plastic wrap which was a little weird. The spicy bbq sauce they have is good. I thought the bbq was delicious but it could have been that I had just burned 2000 calories running up that stupid mountain.
FAST SERVICE AND FRIENDLY STAFF. IT was a ZOO today!!! Packed on Super Bowl Sunday. Despite that, we ordered and were served really promptly. Found seating nearby and everything we had was delicious. Loved the pasta salad and BBQ chicken. My son enjoyed the mac n cheese. Easily share a plate. Accessible right at the base of the lifts towards the left side of Snow Summit.
They recently revamped Snow Summit since my last visit during Thanksgiving and that includes this medium sized BBQ stand near the ski school information booth. The nearest seating is all outdoors, but its worth enduring the cold for the brisket sandwich, which is the best food I've ever had at this resort. It was a substantial portion of thickly sliced brisket with just a tad of fat on a brioche bun with your choice of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, spicy BBQ sauce, or Carolina mustard. All for your ski resort premium of $11. Totally worth it.
